Buddy Rich Memorial Concert

The legendary drummer, Buddy Rich, will be honored with a memorial concert on the 25th anniversary of his passing. Cathy Rich promised her father to keep his music alive and she felt the best way to do it was to hold regular memorial concerts. The first event was held in 1988 at Carnegie Hall in New York and the most recent at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York in 2008. She will co-host this memorial with John Thompson of The Fast Show and Cold Feet, and will present lifetime achievement awards to three rock legends.

The concert will be held in the UK at the London Palladium on April 2. Tickets are currently on sale. Scheduled to appear are Dave Weckl, Gregg Bissonette, John Blackwell and Gregg Potter from the USA and Ian Paice, Ginger Baker, Gavin Harrison and Elliott Henshaw from the UK as well as a special guest appearance from singer Tony Christie.

Paul Quin, a partner at Saxon, Gilmore, Carraway & Gibbons, P.A., who represents Mr. Blackwell as well as Ms. Rich, has been invited to attend. Mr. Quin represents a variety of entertainers, mostly within the music business and specializes in representing drummers and other sidemen in all aspects of their professional career including band agreements, endorsements, contract drafting, negotiation and review, business plans, incorporation, title search, management and publishing.
